Why did you choose to study at SSE?
After an exchange during my bachelor’s degree, I felt the urge to take my master’s degree abroad. I got acquainted with CEMS, and SSE is a CEMS school. SSE has the advantage that it offers its International Business program in combination with the CEMS degree.

During the Assessment Centre in March, SSE gave me a warm feeling, which led me to accept the offer. But it was only after starting at SSE that I realized what a great choice I had made because SSE offers more than just the program: it offers a unique study environment, intriguing students and close relations with corporate partners.

How have you experienced your program so far?
It has been a great journey so far. Our class dynamics are great; everyone is super open and friendly. The students’ different backgrounds make class discussions really diverse. During the first term, we had interesting courses during that gave us a chance to work with several companies.

How do the classes differ from where you studied before?
Because of the small class size, lectures are very interactive at SSE. Teachers use a variety of methods to teach: it is a balanced combination of for instance classes prepared by the students, individual and group assignments and business cases. Group work is a large part of studying at SSE. Although it is a lot of work, it is part of the learning experience; it contributes to a good class atmosphere and in some cases it even leads to new friendships.

What are the teachers like?
The teachers are very easily approachable. In Sweden, everyone converses on a first name basis and the teachers take time for you if you want to discuss anything. Furthermore, they are very open for feedback and willing to make changes if the class feels that it is needed.

How is it to live in Stockholm?
Living in Stockholm is great. Stockholm instantly felt like home to me. The trendy city is beautifully located near the waters of the Archipelago. I have enjoyed every second so far, which my fellow students and new friends contributed to.

What are your career goals?
I am planning to start my career either as a Management Consultant or as a Trainee in a multinational corporation. There are many ways in which you are supported at SSE to make the career choice that suits you. The Student Association organizes many company presentations and dinners to connect students and companies.

A unique opportunity is the MSc Mentor Program, in which students get assigned to an alumnus with preferably experience in the student’s business areas of interest. With the mentor, the student can discuss for instance career choices over a breakfast or lunch.
