About Trickle Up:
Founded in 1979, Trickle Up helps the poorest people graduate out of extreme poverty. We help women and vulnerable populations start sustainable livelihood activities and join savings groups that give them a safe place to save money, access credit, gain hope and confidence, and become decision-makers in their households and communities. Trickle Up works in partnership with local organizations, global institutions, and governments, focusing on how to scale what works. We measure and analyze impact guided by data that quantifies our results and shows that what we do works.
Since 2013, Trickle Up has partnered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), a UN agency mandated with ensuring the international protection of tens of millions of refugees around the globe. Trickle Up advises UNHCR on how to reach the poorest and most vulnerable and integrate the Graduation Approach into UNHCR’s livelihoods programming. Our goal is to help refugees build sustainable economic self-sufficiency, thereby increasing the resiliency of refugees over the long-term. We have reached more than 6,500 refugees in six countries working with UNCHR, with plans to expand to 22 countries, reaching 4,500 people in the next three years.
Our goal is to reach more of the world’s poorest than ever in the next 3-5 years by partnering with others to scale our approach. Trickle Up is headquartered in New York City, with regional offices in India, Guatemala, and Burkina Faso. See www.trickleup.org for more information.
