Fudan University’s School of International Relations and Public Affairs (SIRPA) is committed to training students who are prepared to face the challenges of an unprecedentedly globalizing world. SIRPA has four departments (International Politics, Political Science, Public Administration and Diplomacy) that offer degree programs from undergraduate to Ph.D. levels. The School has one of the best MPA programs in China that trains mid-career professionals from the public, the private, and the nonprofit sectors.
In recent decades, SIRPA has firmly built its global profile in teaching and research. It now has five English-taught Master Degree programs in areas of international relations, public management, public policy, and comparative politics, as well as a couple of double-degree programs, including one with Sciences Po Paris, and almost 30 exchange programs. It has the first English-taught Ph.D. program in international relations in mainland China. SIRPA emphasizes multidisciplinary and academic inputs in its teaching. Students of SIRPA are expected to be able to cope with the wicked political and managerial issues in an increasing open and complex global society.
SIRPA students are exposed to a highly diverse academic environment. The School organizes world-class conferences and workshops, edits multiple English and Chinese journals and book series, operates active visiting scholar programs and hosts a dozen of specialized research centers. Life at SIRPA will equip students with both up-to-date analytical toolkit and appropriate knowledge about China and the world.
