The College of International Affairs (CIA) has been one of the nine academic institutions at the National Chengchi University (NCCU).
The College of International Affairs was established to answer the call for national development, to forge a better understanding of international affairs, to accelerate close cooperation with foreign institutions, to encompass the best qualities within the University, and to integrate academic resources in the pursuit of academic excellence.
The CIA has three institutions, i.e., the Department of Diplomacy, Graduate Institute of East Asian Studies (GIEAS), and Graduate Institute of Russian Studies (GIRS). Only the Department of Diplomacy covers the training from BA, MA up to Ph.D. compared with MA and Ph.D. programs at the GIEAS, and MA at the GIRS. The CIA has MA Programs for both National Security and Mainland China Studies, and International Affairs and Strategic Studies. The two programs, which are solely prepared for local students when they are still at work were established to respond to the necessity of senior military and other civil officers for continuing education.
