Educating tomorrow’s leaders in the fields of international and public affairs, the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs at Florida International University (FIU) is producing scholarship that advances the understanding of critical global issues, contributes to policy solutions and promotes international dialogue. The Green School brings together FIU’s internationally oriented disciplines to provide cutting-edge research, first-rate teaching and innovative training necessary for the globalized world of the 21st Century. The academic core of the School is comprised of eight major departments: Criminology and Criminal Justice, Economics, Global and Sociocultural Studies, History, Modern Languages, Politics and International Relations, Public Policy and Administration, and Religious Studies. The Green School also houses many of FIU’s most prominent international centers, institutes and programs, including the Kimberly Green Latin America and Caribbean Center–a US Department of Education Title VI-designated National Resource Center.
The Green School offers graduate and undergraduate degrees as well as certificates that encompass a variety of fields and geographic regions. In addition, the School offers a variety of joint and combined degree programs, which allow students to complete two degrees in a fraction of the time. The Master of Arts in Global Affairs is the Green School’s flagship program. This two-year graduate program offers pragmatic skills combined with theoretical rigor to understand the complex global problems confronting the world today. Whether pursuing a track in Globalization and Security, Global Risk and Corporate Responsibility, or International Crime and Justice, students engage with an interdisciplinary curriculum that prepares them for careers in the private and public sectors, international organizations, multinational corporations, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and non-profit organizations. Other professionally-orientated master’s programs offered by the Green School include Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Asian Studies, and Public Administration.
Located in Miami, a dynamic and diverse global city, the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs provides the ideal environment for studying and understanding international and domestic trends.
