Gender, Youth, Social Inclusion (GYSI) Specialist, Amman Jordan
Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in gender studies, economics, international development or other related field and 4 years of related experience or a Master’s degree and 2 years of related experience.
-Minimum 4 years of experience working in GYSI and women’s economic empowerment in economic development, or private sector development programs in Jordan.
-Strong ability to design and conduct qualitative research that addresses project learning priorities.
-A passion for learning, investigation, and for working in economic development.
-A positive and collaborative attitude.
-Familiar with private sector development, market systems facilitation, and/or other economic development approaches (e.g., economic strengthening, inclusive business).
-Ability to build the capacity of colleagues and partners in integrating gender and women’s economic empowerment into programming.
-Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
-Capacity to take initiative and be self-starter.
-Demonstrate high levels of accountability for their work and expected deliverables
Desired qualifications:
-Experience working on empowerment of youth and marginalized populations.
-Experience working on USAID-funded projects or other bilateral or multi-lateral funded projects.
-Knowledge or familiarity with water consumption, and water savings technologies and practices within municipal, agricultural, and/or industrial sectors in Jordan.
-Graduate degree
-Advanced computer literacy, including strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Other information:
This is a salaried, full-time position based in Amman, Jordan. The successful candidate for this position must be willing to work from the WEC project office in-person from Sunday to Thursday with the rest of the team in country. The basic monthly salary for this position is JOD 2,000 – 2,500. Where a candidate falls within this range is based on previous years of experience and versatility (i.e., number of required and desired characteristics) as well as expected capability.
