Program Associate, South Asia (Nepal and Pakistan)

The Program Associate (PA) reports to the Program Officer (PO). The Program Associate is the entry level position for program work at IRI and provides administrative and programmatic support for current and developing programs in South Asia.
This is a hybrid position based in Washington, DC.
Position Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in political science, international relations or related field.
0-1 years of experience in international development or related field.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
Budgeting and procurement experience preferred.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
International experience preferred, particularly in South Asia
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Detail-oriented
Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
Tracks and follows-up on pending procurement requests, approvals and monitoring once approved, including processing payments.
Assists in drafting and submitting contracts.
Assists in monitoring project spending and projecting costs.
Drafts quarterly, semi-annual, final and other relevant reports for funders.
Edits and summarizes weekly reports for internal and funder audiences.
Updates program databases, procurement trackers, etc.
Provides logistical support for meetings when necessary.
Assists with program monitoring and evaluation (M&E), including participating in regular M&E calls, tracking compliance with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan, and identifying where adjustments need to be made.
Maintains program SharePoint organization.
Participates in program design and strategy brainstorming sessions.
Participates in business development, such as writing proposals and drafting budgets.
Participates in Asia Division-wide initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Required
Bachelors or better in Political Science or related field.
Experience
Required
Less than 1 year: Undergraduate degree in political science, international relations or related field. 0-1 years of experience in international development or related field. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
