Research Program Manager
The University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs’ Center for Governance and Markets (CGM) is seeking a Research Program Manager to lead and oversee the execution of various research projects. The Center serves as a global hub for scholars and practitioners analyzing institutional diversity around the world. Reporting to the Executive Director with guidance from principal investigators, the incumbent will coordinate activities related to CGM’s research programs. The candidate will ensure the successful execution of all required research outputs and activities based on documented commitments. Incumbent will coordinate execution of research activities and related project activities including but not limited to research seminars, workshops, conferences, lectures, online events, and managing fieldwork (in the United States, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and other potential locations). The program manager will also be responsible for drafting necessary reports, developing and monitoring project outcomes and indicators, consolidating research progress, storing research documentation in the center’s file storage, updating internal project management systems and website repository, and drafting research progress reports for selected projects. The incumbent will manage research teams in the field as well as student research associates at the University of Pittsburgh.

The incumbent will interface with scholars within the University and around the world and must be able to communicate with clarity, humility, and represent the Center’s values.
This position is 100% funded by non-operating funds.
Manages and facilitates overall day-to-day research administration activities and operational functions. Collaborates to ensure compliance, productivity, and progress. Develops and implements program policies and procedures and adheres to protocols, regulations, and budgets. Coordinates program events and logistics. Performs budgetary functions.
Essential Functions Strong analytical skills required to conduct and manage research programs. Excellent customer service skills, ability to interact professionally with diverse audiences, strong computer and phone skills, and strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
