9/25 Nunn School Event: How Fans Fall in Love with Women's Football with Dr. Rachel Allison
Please join the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, the Global Development Program and the Soccer, Community, Innovation, Politics (SCIP) VIP with support from the Neal Family Foundation and The Homer C. Rice Chair in Sports and Society for a discussion on the growth of the women’s game with Dr. Rachel Allison, Associate Professor of Sociology with Mississippi State University. Dr. Allison has spent her academic career researching gender and intersectionality across societal institutions characterized by women’s increased representation, including education, medicine, and sport. Her current project explores how owners and staff of women’s professional soccer in the U.S. craft goals and strategies for selling the league.
The talk will be hosted in Press Room A on the 2nd Floor of the Bill Moore Student Success Center from 5-7pm on Wednesday, September 25th. Parking can be found nearby at the Area 1 Visitor Lot on North Avenue. The event is free to attend with no RSVP necessary! If you cannot make it in person, please consider joining us virtually, here. We hope to see you there!
