Annual Awards

The APSIA Annual Awards celebrate the hard work of the APSIA community. Launched in 2021, they are one of the ways APSIA brings our community together to celebrate innovations in the field of professionally-focused international affairs education.

APSIA members and affiliates are eligible for the

  • Innovation Award for Professional Development Programming celebrating innovative programming that helped graduate students develop professionally in the fields of international affairs within the last year.
  • Intersection Award for Linking Theory and Practice celebrating programs/events within the last year that connected current affairs, policymakers’ work, and/or people’s everyday lives to the broader tenets of international relations.
  • Inclusion Award for Community Building celebrating programs/efforts within the last year that deepened a sense of connection within the community, particularly those that bridged different groups.
  • Impact Award for Service to the APSIA Community celebrating contributions to the APSIA community across the work of the school.

How to nominate

Nominations can come from administrators, faculty, staff, students, and friends of the institutions themselves, as well as the broader community. To compete, schools must be an APSIA member or affiliate in good standing. Nominations are typically accepted every spring.

Winners are typically announced in May each year.
