Fordham University’s Graduate Program in International Political Economy and Development (Fordham IPED) is internationally known for its academic excellence. Many of our graduates routinely obtain prestigious awards that include Fulbrights, US Presidential Management Fellowships, CRS International Development Fellowships, and CFA Access Scholarships.
We seek an entering class of no more than 30 students each year who wish to follow a unique and innovative interdisciplinary approach to analyzing global economic relations as well as international development issues. By maintaining a small class size and through the use of generous fellowships we are able to shape a diverse and gifted student body. About 40% of our students come from outside the United States, and on average our matriculated students have scored at or above the 85th percentile on the Graduate Record Examination.
Our curriculum, as well as our location in New York City, is ideal for anyone who wishes to pursue a professional career in international affairs. About half of alumni are employed in the private sector usually as financial analysts with firms such as Morgan Stanley and the Bank of America. Approximately a quarter of our alumni are public servants working as policy analysts, economic analysts, or program managers with organizations ranging from the US International Trade Administration to the UN Development Programme. Moreover, about 15% of our alumni are in the non-profit sector, usually employed as project managers with various development and human rights agencies such as Catholic Relief Services and Freedom House.
