Hertie School

The Hertie School is a private university based in Berlin, accredited by the State and the German Science Council. Interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, first-class research and an extensive international network set the Hertie School apart and position it as an ambassador of good governance, characterised by public debate and engagement. The School was founded at the end of 2003 as a project of the Hertie Foundation, which remains its major partner.

The Hertie School has four master’s programmes: the Master of Public Policy (since 2005), the Executive Master of Public Administration (since 2008), the Master of International Affairs (since 2015) and the Master of Data Science for Public Policy (since 2021). Together with the Freie Universität Berlin and the Social Science Centre Berlin (WZB), the Hertie School formed the Berlin Graduate School for Global and Transregional Studies (BGTS) to offer doctoral training for the SCRIPTS Cluster of Excellence.
