Established in 1927, National Chengchi University (NCCU) has evolved and grown for more than nine decades, consistently upholding its motto: “Harmony, Independence, Balance, and Preeminence.” Our ongoing commitment involves refining teaching methods and research to nurture talent for both our country and the world.
NCCU currently encompasses twelve colleges with strengths in Liberal Arts, Law, Commerce, Science, Foreign Languages, Social Sciences, Communication, International Affairs, Education, Innovation, Informatics, and Global Banking and Finance. Academically, NCCU houses 34 departments, an undeclared major within the College of Communication, 43 master’s programs, and 34 doctoral programs. Furthermore, the university offers 12 mid-career Master’s Programs, along with seven distinguished International Master’s Programs and an International Doctoral Program.
NCCU has renowned university-level research institutions for foreign policy as well as Taiwan’s changing politics, such as the Institute of International Relations, Election Study Center, and Taiwan Studies Center, among others.
In response to the growing need for internationalization and globalization, NCCU further committed itself to cultivating a premier academic environment for international affairs, leading to the establishment of the College of International Affairs (CIA) in 2000. The CIA officially began its operations in the subsequent year, incorporating the Department of Diplomacy, the Graduate Institute of East Asian Studies, and the Graduate Institute of Russian Studies.
