The University of Miami’s Master of Arts in International Administration (MAIA) Program is an interdisciplinary graduate degree designed to prepare students for careers in the administration of public and private organizations. Our program of study assists students in the identification, analysis and management of the complex problems that confront modern institutions. It combines academic considerations of politics and culture with those of business, finance and management to provide participants with the skills necessary to pursue a range of career objectives in both domestic and international contexts.
The MAIA program offers concentrations in:
- Security Management
- Health Equity & Human Rights
- Risk Communications
- Geospatial Technology (GIS)
Ideal for the both professional student or the recent college graduate, MAIA courses are offered in the evenings, over the summer, and online. The program consists of 30 credits and can be completed in a little as 12 months. MAIA also offers a 15-credit Certificate in Security Management, as well as two dual degree options: MAIA/Master of Public Health (MPH) and MAIA/Master of Public Administration (MPA).
Our students come to the study of international administration from a variety of professions, including communications, business, law, education, and military service, representing some twenty nations, from Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East to Latin America and the Caribbean. The result is an unusually dynamic and mutually enriching learning environment. We also have a dedicated Veterans Affairs office and the University of Miami proudly participates in the Yellow Ribbon provision to the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
The University of Miami is a unique place to live and learn. More than 1,000 multinational corporations, international banks, foreign trade offices, consulates, and bi-national chambers of commerce have a presence in Greater Miami. As an international center for trade and finance and the nation’s gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean, Miami is a truly global city, home to one of the most dynamic international communities in the nation.
