The School of International Studies at the University of Trento is the only multidisciplinary Graduate School in Italy offering advanced (Master and doctoral) education in International Studies. The entire academic offer is taught in English. The School offers two-year Master’s programs in European and International Studies (MEIS), International Security Studies (MISS, jointly with the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa), Security, Intelligence and Strategic Studies (IMSISS, jointly with the University of Glasgow, Dublin City University, Charles University in Prague) and a three-year PhD program in International Studies.
The School organizes research activities in the field of European and international studies. These activities address the challenges associated with the processes of globalization and European integration, as well as with the growing security issues that accompany these phenomena, and are predominantly characterized by a multidisciplinary approach.
The SIS is a vibrant academic environment. Students, faculty members, post-doc researchers and visiting professors participate in the School’s teaching and research activities, all contributing to the creation of a stimulating intellectual community. The School hosts international conferences and academic and professional workshops on subjects ranging from the global economic order to topics related to the European Union, from international security to international institutions. These events complement a rich program of Guest Lectures held by academics of international standing and of Conversations with Professional Practitioners working in international organizations.
Over the years, the School has built up a rich network of partners with which it has developed joint teaching and research activities.
