Job Purpose

The Programme Coordinator provides cross-cutting coordination to all the activities of ECFR’s US Programme. The Programme Coordinator supports the development of the programme’s activities, including liaising with advocacy and events organisation, financial management and fundraising. It also coordinates program activities with all relevant internal and external contacts.

Main Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Programme Director, support the effective implementation of the Programme’s strategy and work plan.
  • Coordinate and organise all aspects of the Programme’s events such as private meetings, workshops, public events etc.
  • Manage the Programme’s finances, including budget drafting, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Monitor the deliverables and financial expenditure of assigned donor projects, including compliance with donor regulations and grant/project controlling.
  • Coordinate the formulation of advocacy and communications strategies for the Programme.
  • Liaise with relevant external contacts and ECFR council members to establish and expand the Programme’s advocacy network.
  • Develop and maintain ECFR’s global database with relevant contacts for the Programme’s outreach.
  • Track and promote the impact of the Programme work for the ECFR Senior Management, ECFR Board of Trustees and external donors/stakeholders.
  • Supports fundraising activities for the Programme in close cooperation with the Development Team.
  • Other general responsibilities may be reasonably requested over time in the context of ECFR’s organizational priorities.

Person Specification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • At least 2 years’ work experience in budgeting and financial oversight.
  • Proven work experience in events management and advocacy.
  • Good research and analytical skills and previous experience of preparing detailed reports.
  • High standard of written and verbal English is essential.
  • Relevant knowledge/interest in European politics and transatlantic relations.
  • Knowledge of other European languages is desirable.
  • IT proficient including Microsoft Office and social media.
  • Experience with budgeting and accounting software.
  • Willingness and ability to occasionally travel and to work some irregular hours.

  • Excellent organisational skills, flexible and multitasking with the ability to adapt to a changeable conditions and demanding deadlines.
  • Curiosity and a good eye for detail.
  • Ability to work individually, as well as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-national team, and to develop effective relationships across the organization.
  • Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact with people of all levels in a confident and professional manner.
