Welcoming new member: University Mohammed VI Polytechnic

The Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs is delighted to welcome the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences (FGSES) at University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (Morocco), as a full member. FGSES will be the first school on the African continent, and in MENA, to join APSIA.

FGSES brings to the organization’s network nuanced perspectives on current global challenges. Its membership allows APSIA to share valuable solutions for governance and development from the African continent and far beyond. FGSES will continue to nurture the cross-cultural vision that animates APSIA’s training, research and education programs in the field of international affairs.

“We are genuinely excited to be part of the community. We share the same vision with our fellow members within such a distinguished network. We are also equally aware of the global challenges lying ahead. FGSES is keen to contribute knowledge, training and expertise from the perspectives of Morocco, the African continent, and the broader New South,” says Karim El Aynaoui, Executive Vice-President of the Social Sciences, Economics and Humanities Cluster at UM6P and Dean of the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences.

For over 30 years, APSIA has served as the home for the world’s leading professional schools of international affairs. By bringing together top institutions, the association acts as a bridge between world-class education practices and an inspiring global impact. The organization’s collaborative network empowers students, institutions, and partners to become transformative agents of positive change by advancing understanding, peace, and prosperity.

“Diverse perspectives are essential for creating sustainable solutions to global issues. The University Mohammed VI Polytechnic and the Faculty of Governance, Economics and Social Sciences will enrich our community with their crucial and unique perspective, given Morocco’s strategic location, at the crossroads of North Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the rest of Africa” said Michelle Reddy, Executive Director of APSIA. “We are honored to have them join us and look forward to having more schools from the Global South join our association, helping to strengthen, expand, and invigorate APSIA’s extensive network of schools globally.”

Through the continued expansion of the association’s global community of graduate schools, it remains a primary resource for producing the expertise necessary to manage and shape international cooperation.
