Dr. Kirk Bowman, the Jon R. Wilcox Term Professor in Soccer and Global Politics in The Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech received the prestigious Georgia Power Professor of Excellence Award on Saturday, February 11th at the Georgia Tech Men's Basketball comeback win over Boston College.

Bowman teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in comparative politics, Latin American politics, and soccer and global politics, and has directed study abroad programs in Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, and Uruguay. He has published three books and has received research support from the National Institutes of Health, the Ford Foundation, and the Social Science Research Council, among others.
