Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Relations

The School of International Studies (SIS) and the Department of Sociology and Social Research (DSRS) of the University of Trento jointly seek to appoint one tenure-track assistant professors in:
– Political Science/International Relations
Candidates should hold a PhD or an equivalent qualification, an excellent publication record, and evidence of high-quality teaching and mentoring.
The position is a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professorship (Ricercatore a Tempo Determinato RTD-B). This is a fixed term three-years contract that leads to Associate Professorship upon obtainment of the national scientific qualification (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale) and positive evaluation by the University. The University grants a start-up research fund of 12.000 euro.
The position carries a total teaching load of 90 hours per year (undertaken both in English and Italian) and target graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in courses offered by the School of International Studies (SIS) and the Department of Sociology and Social Research (DSRS). In addition, the post holder will collaborate in tasks connected with the management of teaching programs offered by the SIS and the DSRS and in other institutional activities.

We are looking for candidates with teaching and research expertise in the field of international relations and politics. Candidates with an interest in international organizations, political order and stability, democratization, environmental issues and regional development are especially welcome.
Candidates should be familiar with the main contemporary debates in international relations and transnational governance. As for regional specialization, any of the following areas are of interest: North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia, Southern Asia, South-East Asia, Middle East or Latin America.
