Technology Lead

The Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT) is seeking a full-time Technology Lead who can help us prevent terrorists and violent extremists from exploiting digital platforms.

GIFCT envisions a world in which the technology sector marshals its collective creativity and capacity to render terrorists and violent extremists ineffective online. In every aspect of our work, GIFCT aims to be transparent, inclusive, and respectful of the fundamental and universal human rights that terrorists and violent extremists seek to undermine.

About the Role

As a full-stack technical expert, you will create and deliver code, software, and quality assurance to all GIFCT projects, including our Incident-Response Framework. As an organizational leader, you will play a key role in building our technical team by envisioning the capabilities critical to the success of our mission, members, and world, and by modeling our values of inclusion and transparency in everything you do.

We rely on the integrity, passion, and collaboration of our team to achieve results greater than the sum of our parts. You will share these values and bring your own perspective, experience, and ideas to the table.

You will learn from and grow with our Director of Technology, Tom Thorley, who will serve as a coach, mentor, and enabler so you can drive the team, projects, and GIFCT community forward through:

Project Management: Provide vision, clarity, and subject matter expertise (including technical and user experience design) on software projects. Coordinate technical projects through a range of delivery mechanisms including, in-house, volunteer, open source, and contracted.
Software Development: Define and follow best practices for software development, ensure Quality Assurance is completed, and create well-designed features (with corresponding unit tests) according to their acceptance criteria.
Community Support: Provide GIFCT members with technical support to system implementations, including bug fixing, application troubleshooting, and system administration. Drive member adoption of current capabilities, support existing integrations, and improve efficiency of future integrations.
Other Duties as Assigned: As part of a small team, maintain a can do and will do attitude. Understand, appreciate, and lean into what it means to be a key player in an agile organization.
