Assistant Dean, Student Services and Diversity & Inclusion
The Assistant Dean of Student Services oversees the planning, administration, and delivery of key academic services for Elliott School undergraduate and graduate students through the offices of Undergraduate Academic Advising and Graduate Student Services. As an innovative, experienced, and organized leader, the Assistant Dean ensures that students receive comprehensive academic support and career services that integrate with the Elliott School mission and curriculum.
In overseeing these key student services, the Assistant Dean is an advocate for student interests, an academic ambassador connecting with student services resources across GW, and a caretaker of Elliott School’s high academic standards. The incumbent will uphold existing policies and foster new initiatives in coordination with faculty and administration within the Elliott School, other University leadership, students, parents, employers, and other universities. The Assistant Dean will support and advise the 17 student organizations affiliated with the School. The Assistant Dean will be responsible for the overall administrative management of the undergraduate and graduate offices, overseeing finances, personnel, and policies. Additionally, the Assistant Dean will provide strategic leadership for and daily oversight of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Working in partnership with the Elliott School’s DEI Council, which includes faculty, staff, and student stakeholders, the Assistant Dean will oversee the implementation of the School’s maturing DEI vision and strategy.
