Ernst Publishes Guide to Pursuing A Career in International Development
Jessica Ernst, SU/Maxwell MPA/MA IR 2010 graduate, recently published So You Want to Save the World: A Guide to Pursuing a Career in International Development. Each chapter is dedicated to answering a thought-provoking question for the reader with detailed discussion on the options, criteria, and personal trade-offs, alongside compelling examples from her own work as well as that of other dedicated professionals working in the field of international development. The Guide is available in both a paperback and Kindle edition.
Jessica is currently a Knowledge Management and Training Manager with Dexis Consulting Group in partnership with USAID. She has also worked as a team consultant for USAID on their Civil Society Assessment Framework for the Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance Bureau, a Geographic Analyst for East/Horn of Africa for USAID's Office of Food for Peace with AMEX International, Inc, the manager for Initiative for Global Development (IGD) an organization dedicated to engaging a global network of corporate leaders to reduce poverty through business growth and investment in Africa, and an independent consultant on projects for the Millennium Challenge Corporation and Global Knowledge Initiative. So You Want to Change the World is her second publication. Jessica speaks four languages and lives in the metro Washington, DC area.
