Assistant Program Officer, CBYX

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) team manages both inbound and outbound cohorts of the CBYX for Young Professionals, a fellowship funded by the German Bundestag and U.S. Department of State, that annually provides 75 American and 75 German young professionals the opportunity to spend one year in each other’s countries, studying, interning, and living with hosts on a cultural immersion program. Our team is based in the U.S. and works with colleagues in the Cultural Vistas’ Berlin office to manage all aspects of the program including recruitment, selection, and implementation.

Your primary job will be to assist in the management of the outbound (American) CBYX cohort (you will also be assisting with various inbound cohort (German) tasks)). You will ensure that program planning and delivery provides robust and meaningful experiences to participants in line with the mission of Cultural Vistas. You will be responsible for serving as a secondary point of contact for American CBYX participants, assisting in the team’s recruiting and selection efforts, coordinating logistical planning and content for orientation and evaluation seminars, managing inbound participant travel to their final placements, and managing the team’s social media accounts. You will report to the Senior Program Officer, CBYX. As we work as a close team, you will also receive guidance from other team members on tasks and policies related to program administration. This position is dependent upon the continued availability of grant funds.
