Director, Pre-College Programs
The Director of Pre-College Programs is responsible for overseeing the pre-college programs offered by the School of International Service as well as the AU-wide College Credit Option offered for participating students in the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC). This position serves as the university’s key administrative liaison with (1) the NSLC headquarters in Chicago, (2) the AU faculty from the various academic units that teach in the program (currently SIS, CAS, SOC, and SPA) (3) other administrative units in the university, and (4) the primary university contact and advisor for the participating and prospective students of the program.
In addition, the Director oversees SIS’ Community of Scholars program, a 3-credit high school summer residential program, and the AU High School Summer Scholars Program. The Director is responsible for marketing/recruiting, admissions, programming, administering, and managing all aspects of these programs. The Director advises participating and prospective students as well as performs outreach to local DC-area high schools. The Director will be responsible for strategizing and implementing approaches to demonstrate AU’s Inclusive Excellence across our high school programs. They are responsible for tracking, organizing, and analyzing data and providing key reports to participating and administrative and academic units as well as to the Provost’s Office.
