The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is a 501(c)3, bipartisan organization that serves as America’s leading foundation for freedom, providing support for democratic activists, civil society organizations, and independent media throughout the world. We seek an experienced, dynamic, and savvy Events Producer to help strengthen the impact of our work and mission.

Position Summary:

The Events Producer will support, plan, and implement events, conferences, and meetings at NED. Based within the Communications and Public Engagement team, this role will collaborate across NED’s regional programs and other initiatives to amplify the voices of our partners and experts and help create engaging, inspiring events that align with our mission of strengthening democracy and human rights around the world. Reporting to the Director, Events and Public Engagement, the Events Producer is an integral part of the fast-paced and growing Communications and Public Engagement team, working to do the specific thing the team does.

Responsibilities:

Build and maintain relationships with like-minded organizations, including other donors, NED partners, and regional organizations.
Plan NED events and experiences from start to finish according to strategy, goals, and other objectives set by the Director of Events and NED Leadership;
Ability to operate sound and visual equipment during live public events broadcasts;
Proficiency with digital audio editing tools to repurpose public event video recording into audio podcast to maximize audience reach;
Assist with in-person event room setup, catering, scheduling, AV and conference technology, invitation lists, financial paperwork, and all aspects of event planning;
Act as a liaison for AV, Office Services, communications, media relations, and other stakeholders at NED to effectively communicate goals and ensure events run smoothly;
Support Democracy Awards, Global Assembly for Democracy, and other major annual events;
Help team members on the Communications and Public Engagement team to create engaging content before and after each event;
Provide post-event metrics to measure event success and make data-driven recommendations to optimize audience engagement;
Maintain a detailed Rolodex of vendors and build relationships with freelancers to hire for future NED events;
Ensure vendors are contracted and paid in a timely manner;
Collaborate with the Communications and Public Engagement team and other NED departments, including regional programs, democracy support activities, Leadership, core institutes, partners, and other organizations.
Other duties as assigned.
The level of responsibility and independence in assigned tasks will increase with experience.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, Political Science, International Development, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in event planning, production, or administration.
Familiarity with email marketing software such as Mailchimp, and experience using event registration platforms.
Technical proficiency to help with AV equipment, livestreaming, websites, and conference technology.
Working knowledge of audio visual production environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
Problem-solving skills
Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends.
Authorized to work in the United States.
