Senior Digital Producer
Job Summary:
The Senior Digital Producer will lead the daily content management of GMF’s social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram, and will share in the management of gmfus.org. The person in this position will assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive social media strategies to grow GMF’s online communities, build brand awareness, and drive engagement with GMF’s content. This position will also shape and produce storytelling projects to further promote and elevate GMF’s voice and work.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Main point of contact for D.C. based staff on updates or content for gmfus.org and social media
· Lead member of digital team in developing dynamic content and strategy for GMF’s social platforms, including Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, Threads and LinkedIn
· Lead member of digital team in publishing, updating, and maintaining gmfus.org and other GMF web properties, as well as ensuring digital contributors across organization adhere to best practices in digital communications
· Work with Digital Communications Manager to develop innovative strategies and social media communication plans around the organization’s content, events, programs, and initiatives
· Create digital media kits for all GMF flagship events and publications for distribution to all GMF staff
· Monitor social media industry trends and identify opportunities for different platforms and target audience engagement
· Take the lead in training colleagues in use of GMF’s digital channels and enforcing GMF’s digital communications policies and practices
· Manage social media channels for the President of GMF
· Assist in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting website traffic and social media engagement and continuously improve channels using these metrics from Sprout Social and Google Analytics
· With Manager, Digital Communications responsible for tracking and reporting metrics across social media channels and gmfus.org
· Work on new digital products, including podcasts
· Keep up to date on the communication’s tactical calendar for promotional opportunities,
· Works with multimedia team to develop graphics and videos
· Help create and define the voice of GMF on social media
· Collaborate across GMF to execute large social media campaigns for major initiatives, events, and anniversaries.
· Develop organization wide policies and procedures for digital channels.
· Manage digital engagement during live events, including live-tweeting and live-clipping big events.
· Run social media events including Twitter spaces.
· Manage and develop paid digital advertising campaigns for key GMF products
Additional Duties/Responsibilities (in order of importance):
· Develop digital products as needed
· Assist development team with digital fundraising, i.e., giving Tuesday
· Assist press officers with drafting or editing press releases as needed
· Works with digital team to draft scripts for videos
· Support and guides staff running program/center social media accounts
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
· Proven working experience in social media management and growing online audiences; Familiarity with social media management tools (Sprout Social a plus).
· Excellent written and oral communication skills with a keen ability to distill policy ideas and transatlantic news and themes into language appropriate for social media and for the purposes of storytelling
· Demonstrates a strong ability to create and implement social content strategy to engage and grow online communities using data, analytics, and audience metrics, particularly Sprout’s analytics tools and Google Analytics.
· Knowledge of basic principles of web layout and design, HTML, content management systems, Drupal, and other web platforms, such as WordPress. Experience with Drupal preferred.
· Experience in SEO optimization
· Self-starter with the ability to manage communications and workflow across time zones
· Strong interest and knowledge of current events; Interest in international relations a plus
· Strong attention to detail, organized, and task-oriented
· Experience in graphic design for social media, particularly Canva, and short-form video editing. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suites (particularly Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro) is a plus.
· Experience with paid social media promotion
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in journalism, international relations, communications, marketing, English, history, political science, or a related field.
· Approximately 4-5 years of relevant work experience.
Salary: $55, 412 – $69,265
