COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP

The Communications Intern supports the External Affairs Team on a broad range of initiatives, and can expect a fast-paced, well-rounded experience in all aspects of communications. The ideal candidate should possess a solid foundation of communications experience (can include coursework and/or previous internships), including the ability to make simple website updates, create and implement communications-driven campaigns, track media hits, and more. They should also possess a strong work ethic; positive, can-do attitude; and commitment to collaboration and teamwork. An interest in international affairs, advocacy, and/or public diplomacy is an asset. Hillary Rodham Clinton Research Fellow

The Hillary Rodham Clinton Research Fellowship is a one-year program that provides unique opportunities to a recent PhD or master’s level graduate to conduct rigorous, policy-oriented research to address key knowledge gaps in the field of Women, Peace and Security (WPS). Fellows should have working knowledge of the WPS Agenda and related US and international policy frameworks. The selected fellow will be based at the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security in Washington, D.C. The Fellow will support GIWPS’ conflict monitoring initiative, including the WPS Conflict Tracker, and undertake an agreed-upon research program producing policy-relevant research papers and policy briefs. Candidates must have a background or demonstrated interest in gender as it relates to International Affairs, particularly in conflict-affected and fragile settings.

Assistant Professor in Public Policy (Tenure Stream)

The Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a tenure-stream faculty position at the assistant professor level in the field of public policy, broadly defined. The position will begin in August 2025. Applicants must have earned a PhD in a relevant field (e.g., public affairs, public policy, public administration, political science, economics) by the time of the appointment. We encourage applications from individuals completing a PhD and those in pre-tenure positions at other institutions. We seek candidates with a promise of excellence in scholarship and teaching in public policy and expertise in a particular policy area, including knowledge of the US context. Topical areas could include but are not limited to social policy (e.g. public assistance, health, housing, labor, justice, and policing), technology policy, urban and local policy, economic development, and public finance. A successful applicant will have the expertise to teach core public policy courses at the PhD and master’s level and in our newly launched and growing undergraduate public policy program. Examples include policy analysis, cost-benefit analysis, ethics and policy, and policymaking and the policymaking process. Candidates should also have the capacity to teach topical courses, especially ones related to our concentrations, which include policy research & analysis, public & nonprofit management, energy & environment, social policy, urban affairs & planning, and governance & international public management.
