Full-time academic position in the Department of International Studies (DEI),

Responsibilities of the Position: The applicant must be willing to perform the following substantive functions:  Conduct research that is relevant for departmental priorities, fortify the DEI’s research culture, train undergraduate and graduate students in research as well as compete for national and/or international research funding.  Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Provide tutoring to students and contribute to the preparation for the General Examination for Undergraduate Graduation (EGEL-RI). Supervision of undergraduate and graduate essays and theses.  Active collaboration in academic administration, promotion, tutoring, student selection and curricular evaluation. Willingness to assume some academic and administrative responsibilities in the short to medium term.  Conduct outreach and networking activities outside the university that benefit students and faculty of the DEI in social service placements, professional internships and other areas.  Promote the Department's programs, the development and management of agreements with other universities, as well as participate in media outreach activities.

Hillary Rodham Clinton Research Fellow

The Hillary Rodham Clinton Research Fellowship is a one-year program that provides unique opportunities to a recent PhD or master’s level graduate to conduct rigorous, policy-oriented research to address key knowledge gaps in the field of Women, Peace and Security (WPS). Fellows should have working knowledge of the WPS Agenda and related US and international policy frameworks. The selected fellow will be based at the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security in Washington, D.C. The Fellow will support GIWPS’ conflict monitoring initiative, including the WPS Conflict Tracker, and undertake an agreed-upon research program producing policy-relevant research papers and policy briefs. Candidates must have a background or demonstrated interest in gender as it relates to International Affairs, particularly in conflict-affected and fragile settings.
