The Women and Public Policy Program
(WAPPP) is a research center at Harvard Kennedy School that focuses on closing gender gaps in economic
opportunity, political participation, and education by creating knowledge,
training leaders, and informing public policy and organizational practices.
Inspired by a WAPPP seminar series “Promoting Gender Equity
at Work,” WAPPP produced several short videos featuring faculty addressing key
gender-related topics.
3 Things You Should Know About Workplace Gender Bias
By de-biasing organizations instead of individuals, we can
make smart changes that have big impacts. In this video, Iris Bohnet, Co-Director
of the Women and Public Policy Program and Albert Pratt Professor of Business
and Government, lists three things that organizations and employers should know
as they try to debias their workplace and tackle issues such as the gender pay
gap and performance support bias.

3 Things You Should Know About the History of the Equal Rights Amendment
The Equal Rights Amendment was first written by Alice Paul and Crystal Eastman and introduced to the U.S. Congress in 1923. If ratified, the ERA would guarantee equal legal rights for all American citizens regardless of sex. In this video, Jane Mansbridge, Adams Professor of Political Leadership and Democratic Values, Emerita, gives a brief overview of the history of the ERA.
