Fall in the Forum

Jr. Forum at the Institute of Politics is Harvard’s premier arena for

political speech, discussion, and debate. And with students fully back on

campus this fall, the Forum has been busy hosting leaders in politics,

government, business, labor, and the media. As the fall semester comes to a

close, let’s take a look back at some of the Forum events from the past few months.

Honoring our Promises to America’s Heroes: A Conversation

with Jon Stewart

In this Veterans Day discussion, comedian and activist Jon Stewart, host

of The Problem with Jon Stewart, reflects on his advocacy work for America’s

veterans.

Republican Brad Raffensperger, secretary of state of Georgia, and

Democrat Natalie Tennant, IOP resident fellow and former secretary of state of

West Virginia, have a post-midterms conversation on the integrity of our

electoral system and threats to our democracy.

Following his retirement from the Supreme Court in June after nearly 28

years, Justice Breyer discusses the state of our judicial system and the rule

of law.

Congresswoman Liz Cheney of Wyoming, the vice chair for the House Select

Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol, discusses

her work in Congress, the future of the Republican Party, and the state of our

democracy.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about his unlikely path

from TV star to Ukraine’s wartime president and his country’s deadly conflict

with Russia.
