Jennifer Murtazashvili discusses possible US troop deployment to Afghanistan with San Diego Union Tribune

University of Pittsburgh GSPIA Assistant Professor Jennifer Brick Murtazashvili recently spoke with Carl Prine a reporter for the San Diego Union Tribune on the the potential buildup of US troops and the uncertain future of the Afghan government. Recent weeks have proven turbulent in Afghanistan with ISIS and the Taliban carrying out and claiming attacks on civilians, and there has been talk on Capitol Hill of Defense Secretary Mattis’ plan to deploy approximately 4,000 more troops.
