Founded in 1919 and located in the heart of Washington, DC, in the beautiful and historic Georgetown neighborhood, the School of Foreign Service (SFS) is the place where students form the ideas and gain the access needed to maximize their impact as global leaders—in the school that has shaped global affairs for over a century and will help define them in the next 100 years. SFS features an undergraduate program for over 1,400 students and master’s programs for around 1000 students from 70 countries. Students at SFS benefit from learning at the global nexus of policy, diplomacy, and politics and from their ongoing affiliation with an alumni network unequaled in the field. SFS’s liberal arts undergraduate program includes a two-year required core curriculum followed by two years of multidisciplinary electives.
