APSIA Celebrates 2022-2023 Junior Faculty Fund Grantees
APSIA launched the Junior Faculty Fund in 2019 to invest in projects that foster collaboration and deepen ties within the APSIA family.
Now in its fourth year, the Fund supports the work of pre-tenure and recently-tenured faculty at APSIA members and affiliates, particularly proposals that transcend national borders.
Junior faculty from 10 APSIA institutions submitted Proposals in October 2022. Then, a committee of APSIA deans and directors selected two projects to support in 2023:
- Nina Hall of Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and Nina Reiners of the Geneva Graduate Institute received support for 2023 Opportunities and Challenges for Transnational and Global Advocacy Workshop, to be held at SAIS Europe in Bologna, Italy. The workshop will bring academics from around the world to develop new understandings and theories of advocacy.
- Debak Das of the University of Denver Josef Korbel School of International Studies and Shubha Kamala Prasad of the Hertie School received support for the creation of a survey and workshop to understand national security policies in democracies in the Global South. Both components seek to explore perspectives in international relations, with particular focus on democratic accountability.
APSIA extends our gratitude to leaders from members and affiliates who served as reviewers.
